About Teed Heating & Cooling
A Southwest Michigan heating and cooling company built around a phone that never goes to voicemail.
Built around the phone
Heating trouble in Kalamazoo rarely shows up at a convenient hour. The furnace that has been groaning all week tends to quit after midnight on the coldest night of the month, and the air conditioner gives out on a Saturday in a humid July stretch. So the first thing we set up was a line that is answered every hour of every day by our own office.
The person who picks up asks the questions a technician would ask: what kind of heat you have, how old the system is, what it is doing now, whether anyone feels unwell. That short conversation lets us send the right technician with the right parts, and tells you honestly when someone can be there.

Two offices, one schedule
Our main office is at 327 S Rose Street in downtown Kalamazoo. It covers the city, Portage, Oshtemo, Texas and Comstock townships, Battle Creek and the inland counties. A second office at 340 Washington St. in Coloma covers the Berrien County side: St. Joseph, Stevensville, Bridgman, Benton Harbor, Coloma, Watervliet and Niles. Both run from the same schedule, so whichever technician is closest and available takes the call.
What our technicians work on
Southwest Michigan has every kind of system. Victorian homes near downtown still run steam and hot-water boilers. Post-war ranches in Milwood and Edison mostly have forced-air gas furnaces with central air. Farmhouses outside Paw Paw and Centreville often heat with propane, and newer builds are adding cold-climate heat pumps and ductless units. We repair, maintain and replace all of them, along with the ductwork, controls, humidifiers and water heaters that go with them.

How we price work
We test before we replace. Once the technician knows what failed, you get a written price for the repair before any work starts, and you decide. When a system is near the end of its life, we show you the repair price and the replacement options side by side and let you choose. Typical ranges for every service are listed in our price guide.
Who writes the Comfort Guides
Our Comfort Guides are edited by Lyman Tibbetts, our Comfort Guides Editor. Lyman works with the technicians to turn the questions homeowners ask on service calls into short, plain answers, from reading a furnace flame to setting winter humidity.

When we are fully booked
During the first hard freeze of the year, furnace calls can outrun our trucks. Teed answers every call itself and sends its own technicians. If every one of them is already committed and you need help sooner than we can get there, we may forward your call to another qualified local HVAC company so you are not left waiting.
